AboutJaQuita

At an early age, prancing around in her tiny pink ballet shoes, JaQuita Williams knew dance would be her greatest passion. Gaining major training in ballet, modern and hip-hop through the Marvin L Winans Academy of Performing Arts, Jai’s desire to entertain and inspire continued to intensify. Receiving a full scholarship to the dynamic, Debbie Allen Dance Academy’s Summer Intensive Program in Los Angeles, California allowed JaQuita to hone in on her craft while exposing her to a plethora of genres including African dance, musical theatre, flamenco, classical ballet, jazz, modern and hip-hop.

While attending Michigan State University to obtain her degree in Advertising, JaQuita served as a choreographer for Spartan Soul Dance Team in which was a multicultural Hip-Hop dance team on campus. The team performed on campus, throughout the metro Detroit area, host their own annual dance showcase, traveled of out state to perform and competition dance. She also was a dance instructor at IM Sports recreation center around Michigan State University campus for students and the East Lansing community.

The class focused on weekly choreography, technique, flexibility, and fluid rhythm for beginners.

Upon graduation JaQuita continued to strengthen her passion through the belief that “one never learns enough”. She performed throughout metro Detroit dance shows such as Burlesque extravaganza; stage plays, Arts, Beats, & Eats festival, music videos for L.J Reynolds and other local artist. She also was a performer and GoGo dancer at MGM casino Detroit. JaQuita was proud to be apart of two great dance based community outreach programs called Dynamic Visionz and 21st Century for 4 years. The programs were an after school program dedicated towards teaching hip-hop, jazz and modern dance choreography and technique to Elementary and Middle School students in Detroit, MI. She loved giving back to her community, connecting with the parents and watching the children progress gracefully and passionately for the art of dance. Although JaQuita enjoyed working with the children she grew a stronger passion for teaching dance fitness classes to adults. She became a Hip-Hop Aerobics instructor at LA Fitness that focused on cardio and toning while learning hip- hop dance moves. For five years JaQuita was the lead instructor teaching flirty chair dance, dance cardio and other sensual choreography classes outside of her own company at Studio 88. During this journey she strengthened her danceskills and was able to grow professionally.

In 2012, JRythmz Productions was established; it specialized in hip-hop, jazz, modern, and sensual choreography with heels. Our company performed at events throughout the metropolitan area, put on dance showcases, and host classes at special events such as Bachelorette parties and “ladies’ Night Out”. In Jan 2015, as the company progressed, JaQuita created the dba  “Get It Girl Dance & Fitness”.

Currently, JaQuita is a devoted wife and mother of two children. She looks forward to embarking on new adventures motivating and uplifting other women through her love for dance and taking her business to the next level.
